Terms of Use

Last updated: October 2026

These Terms of Use ('Terms') govern your access to and use of the website at www.abcfoodlawcompliance.com and all associated services ('the Service') provided by ABC Food Law Limited ('we', 'us', 'our'). The Service provides training and information on UK food law and is designed for businesses operating in the UK food sector, as well as international businesses placing food products on the UK market. Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service. By registering for an account, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise accessing the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

1. About us

The Service is operated by ABC Food Law Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is at Centrum, Norwich Research Park, Norwich, Norfolk, NR4 7UG. You can contact us at [email protected] or by telephone on 01603 319863.

2. Description of the Service

ABC Food Law Compliance provides an online training and information platform focused on UK food law. Our content is relevant to businesses operating within the UK food sector and to international businesses — including those based in the EU, the US, and elsewhere — that manufacture, import, or distribute food products for the UK market. The Service includes: (a) access to a library of on-demand webinar recordings covering UK food law topics, including post-Brexit regulatory frameworks, retained EU law, and Great Britain-specific requirements; (b) access to live webinars broadcast throughout the year; (c) downloadable course notes and PDF materials; (d) multiple-choice quizzes and completion certificates; and (e) a resource hub containing articles and video tutorials. The content and features available to you depend on the subscription tier you have purchased. We reserve the right to modify, update, or withdraw any part of the Service at any time, and we will endeavour to give reasonable notice of material changes.

3. Eligibility

The Service is intended for use by professionals working in the food industry who need to understand and comply with UK food law requirements. This includes, but is not limited to: regulatory consultants, technical directors, quality assurance managers, legal advisers, and procurement professionals based in the UK; and compliance, regulatory affairs, and legal teams at international businesses — including importers, exporters, and manufacturers — that place food products on the UK market. By using the Service, you confirm that: (a) you are at least 18 years of age; (b) you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract; and (c) you are using the Service for professional or business purposes. We do not knowingly provide the Service to individuals under the age of 18. New user accounts are created by ABC Food Law Limited upon subscription purchase; self-registration is not currently available.

4. Accounts and security

When we create an account for you, you will be provided with or invited to set login credentials. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account or any other security breach. We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this obligation. You must not share your login credentials with any other person. Named user licences are personal to the individual named; sharing access is a breach of these Terms and may result in immediate suspension of your account without refund.

5. Subscription plans and payment

Access to the Service requires a paid subscription. We currently offer the following annual plans, all prices excluding VAT at the prevailing rate: (a) The Single Professional Pass — 1 named user; (b) The Compliance Team Pass — up to 5 named users; (c) The Corporate Rate — up to 20 named users. Subscriptions are billed annually in advance in pounds sterling. Payment is processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. By purchasing a subscription, you authorise us to charge the applicable fee to your chosen payment method. All fees are non-refundable except as set out in clause 6 below or as required by applicable law. VAT will be charged at the rate applicable at the time of purchase. Prices are subject to change; we will give at least 30 days' notice of any price increase before your renewal date.

6. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you will retain access to the Service until that date. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for unused portions of a subscription period, except where required by law. If you are a consumer (rather than a business customer) and you cancel within 14 days of your initial purchase without having accessed any content, you may be entitled to a full refund under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. To exercise this right, please contact us promptly at [email protected]. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your subscription immediately and without refund if you are found to be in breach of these Terms, including unauthorised sharing of access.

7. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not: (a) share your login credentials or allow any person other than the named account holder(s) to access the Service using your subscription; (b) copy, reproduce, redistribute, republish, upload, post, transmit, or make available to any third party any content from the Service without our prior written consent; (c) use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our systems or interfere with any other user's enjoyment of the Service; (d) attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, its servers, or any database connected to it; (e) use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or similar technology to access or extract content from the Service; (f) use the Service to transmit any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material; or (g) use the Service in any manner that infringes the intellectual property rights or other rights of any third party. We reserve the right to investigate suspected breaches of this clause and to take appropriate action, including suspension or termination of access.

8. Intellectual property

All content on the Service — including but not limited to webinar recordings, course notes, PDFs, articles, video tutorials, quiz questions, certificates, text, graphics, logos, and software — is owned by or licensed to ABC Food Law Limited and is protected by UK and international copyright, trade mark, and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the content solely for your own internal professional development and training purposes during the term of your subscription. This licence does not permit you to: (a) reproduce or distribute content to third parties; (b) use content for commercial training, resale, or sub-licensing purposes; (c) remove or alter any copyright or proprietary notices; or (d) create derivative works based on our content without our prior written consent. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

9. Third-party content and links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or reference third-party materials. These are provided for information only and do not constitute an endorsement by us. We have no control over the content of third-party sites and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them. Any reliance you place on third-party content is at your own risk.

10. Disclaimers

The content provided through the Service is intended for general professional information and training purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as such. Please note that we do not offer any reserved legal activities as defined in the Legal Services Act 2007. We are not authorised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and we do not provide legal services to the food trade. If you require legal advice, you should consult a qualified solicitor or other appropriately authorised legal professional. Food law is a complex and evolving area; while we take care to ensure our content is accurate and up to date, we make no warranty that it is complete, current, or free from error. You should always seek independent legal advice before taking action in reliance on any content accessed through the Service. The Service is provided 'as is' and 'as available'. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, conditions, and representations, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law: (a) we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss or damage, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service; (b) our total aggregate liability to you in connection with these Terms or the Service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid by you in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ABC Food Law Limited and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Service in breach of these Terms; (b) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; or (c) your infringement of any third-party rights.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time and without notice if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, if required to do so by law, or if we decide to discontinue the Service. We may also suspend access for maintenance or technical reasons, and will endeavour to give advance notice where practicable. On termination for any reason, your licence to use the Service and its content ceases immediately. Clauses that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law — shall continue to apply.

14. Amendments to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the law, our services, or our business practices. The date at the top of this page shows when the Terms were last revised. Where changes are material, we will notify you by email to the address associated with your account at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you should cancel your subscription before the changes take effect.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms, except that if you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction.

16. General

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us in relation to the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations to any successor to our business.
